Independents Siding With Democrats

Report of a CBS News Poll shows independents siding with democrats, against republicans, on many issues--especially the war in Iraq. Bad news for republicans in the next election, good news for democrats. Both sides have adopted the Rovian strategy of appealing to their base. This caused democrats to lose in the last two presidential elections (they should have stuck with the Clintonian appeal to the middle), but the tables may be turned this time around.
